Alpha in finance is the excess return over a particular benchmark. We redefine Alpha as the excess amount of good done by strategically donating to evidence-based interventions, rather than to an average charity. Our primary metric to quantify "good done" is the Quality Adjusted Life Year (QALY). 

Risk

Traditionally, risk is the amount of deviation from a return we can stomach. We redefine risk as the amount of value our donors place on the certainty of an outcome. Our tailored donations range from evidence-based interventions from randomized controlled trials to more speculative interventions with high stakes and high rewards.

Portfolios

Your values are reflected in your portfolio; allocate your donations in a similar manner to the way you allocate investments. You can operate a portfolio with proven interventions focused on the things you care about most, be it helping women or improving education and beyond!
