Why Farmed Animals?

You'll notice that our recommendations, based on information from Animal Charity Evaluators, is focused on helping farmed animals. Animal suffering in our world is diverse and immense. But the magnitude of human-caused animal suffering inflicted on farmed animals dwarfs all other categories.

The organizations that we recommend below seek to reduce the amount of suffering inflicted on animals through researching meat alternatives, conducting legal and legislative work and engaging with corporations.

The Humane League (THL)

The Humane League works to improve animal welfares standards through grassroots campaigns, advocacy, media outreach and more. Their ultimate goal is to end the abuse of animals for food by influencing global policies.

Wild Animal Initiative (WAI)

Wild Animal Initiative works to answer the question, “How can we help prevent the immense amount of pain, suffering and famine inherent in our natural world?”. Their focus is on encouraging and supporting academic research into potential solutions to effectively improve the lives of animals.
